COVID-19 vaccines will be transitioning to the commercial market at the end of fall September 30th. Government distribution of vaccines and ordering ended August 3, 2023. The COVID-19 Outbreak module in MCIR is closing on September 30th. If there is intent to continue to vaccinate with COVID, vaccine purchase will be available on the private market.

As a result, unused COVID-19 vaccine will transition to a commercial product and new formulation. In preparation for this transition, we want to establish and secure facility site agreements that would like to continue vaccinating for COVID-19 in MCIR.

If you are a site that participated as a COVID-19 provider, as part of the outbreak response, and would like to continue vaccinating and reporting to MCIR, please let us know by sending an email to MDHHS-COVIDVaccineProviders@michigan.gov to ensure that your facility is established in MCIR for regular vaccinations. If your provider site does not intend to administer any vaccines after September 30th, please let the MCIR team know at MDHHS-COVIDVaccineProviders@michigan.gov, therefore your site can be removed from MCIR. Additionally, any provider sites that do not respond by September 30th will be removed from MCIR.
